Evaporating and Distillation

Aim:
To find out what will happen if we boil coke zero, To extract water from coke zero by distillation

Equipment:
Boiling tube
Beaker
Test tube
Glass straw
Rubber plug
Clamp Stand
Bunsen Burner
Heat proof Mat
Ice
Water
Safety Glasses

Method:

1.  Put the bunsen burner on the gas tap.
2.  Light the busen burner and put it into the safe flame.
3. Pour water into beaker filling 2/3 of it.
4. Put ice into the beaker.
5. Put the test tube into the beaker.
6. Clamp the boiling tube carefully.
7. Put the rubber plug with the glass straw onto the boiling tube.
8. Carefully tilt the boiling tube making the glass straw pointing straight down the test tube.
9.  Change the flame into blue.
