Investigation Research: Archaeologist

What training do you need for that career?

To become an Archaeologist you must generally have a bachelor's degree and master's degree.

What do you do for an average day on the job?

For an average day archaeologist try to analyze field records and catalogue the artifacts they found on the site they are in.

High Impact Car Results

What did we do?

It was a fair test because all the groups have the same materials, all the cars are racing in the same track, we were given the same time to modify our cars each race, and we were allowed to change the angle of the track we want. The first race was the to see who has the fastest car. Car 6 was the fastest car in the race with .87 second. Second race was to see who's car can stop at the green line. Next was the third race, the third race purpose was to see who's car can go the furtherest. Car 7 won the furtherest with 4.97 metres.

May 22, 2017 2:24:53 PM.jpgHere is my modification of my car. As you can see I put a spoiler at the back. I put a spoiler at the back because I think it will make the car faster by down force. I placed the bump on the front because I think it will help the car go faster by increasing the aerodynamic

This is the modification of my car for the second race, to stop at the green line. I placed the clay on the wheels because I think it will have more friction than a normal car.

For the third race I used the same modification on my car from the first race. I put a spoiler at the back and placed a bump at the front because I thought that the spoiler and the bump are an aerodynamic desing which will help my car go further.

Physics of Car Racing

What problems does our car already have?

The problem is our car spins around.

- what is causing the problem?

The weight on the back of the car.
- how do you plan to correct it?
Add more weight on the front.
How do you think you will make your car go faster?
Making an aerodynamic design.

How do you think you will slow your car down?

Placing sandpaper at the end.

What equipment do we need?

  • Paper
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Play dough

What I tried today
Here are some photos of what I did to my car.

What happened when I tried to race it?

When I tried to race it the first car I modified was spinning.

The second one was flipping.

What I research did I do?

I researched how to make a parachute for my car.

1. What has been done to make this a "fair test"

To make this a fair test we all have the same type of car, one track, and have the same resources.

2. What forces are needed to make the car go faster and how have you modified your car accordingly?

To make the car go faster it needs thrust to accelerate. I modified my car by sticking play dough on its front and shaping it like a shark fin. I did it because I thought it will go faster than before because of the aerodynamic design which the triangle at the front.

3. What forces are needed to make the car stop and what adjustments have you made to try and stop it by the line?

You need friction to make the car stop. I put play dough on my car because I thought that the play dough is going to make the car stop because its heavy.

4. What forces are needed to make the car travel further and what adjustment have you made to achieve this?

You need balanced force to make the car travel further. I modified my car by sticking the play dough on the front. I did it because I think that the play dough is going to make a balanced force.

Music Research

The song I am going to learn is Castle On The Hill.
Ed Sheeran, Kandi Burruss, Tameka Cottle, Johnny McDaid, Steve Mac and Kevin Briggs composed the song.
Ed Sheeran performed the song
The song is about Ed Sheeran's hometown.

I like that he used to instrument at the start

Friction

Force=Mass X Acceleration

Carpet
Concrete
Grass
Lino

Prediction:
I think that if you play tug'o war the carpet and lino it will be harder make you slip but the concrete and grass will make you have more grip and prevent you from slipping.

What is a simple machine

What is a simple machine?

  • A machine is a system that changes the relationship between effort (the force applied) and load (the weight lifted or move)
  • Machine make our lives easier.
  • Machine helps us to lift, push, pull, turn, cut and join things.
  • Wheels, rollers, levers, gears and pulleys all make it easier to move a heavy load by reducing friction or magnifying forces.

Push and Pull

What have we been learning  about?
We have been learning about difference of push and pull.

I found out that push is a force that move things away from the source and pull is a force that move things towards the source.

Something I am wondering about is what if there is too much gravity pulling us down and a few support force.
