Business And Enterprise so far

What are we learning?

I am learning to be collaborative with my team members.

How I am progressing with my learning

I am showing this by listening to other people's ideas, taking responsibility for parts of the task and seeing these through completion, listening to advice from other people, being flexible, and being a positive person within my company because I thought we will make coffee jelly and brownies but my group decided to make Puto Pao and Choco Jelly instead. I took part of completing the letter for Mrs Elley. Listening to tita Jo to change out company name to JICX Pinoy Kids. Agreeing with my team members' decision and believing my company to have a profitable business.

What I/my company have done so far

At the start of business and enterprise, my team members thought of making brownies and coffee jelly and naming our company "Panlasang Pinoy". The next day we decided who will be the manager, marketing manager, production manager and finance/sales manager. I ended up to be the manager, Carl to marketing manager, Ivan to production manager, and Jeremiah to sales/finance manager. After (next B&E) tita Jo came into our business room to help my group out. Later we changed our name into JICX Pinoy Kids and changed our products to Puto Pao and Choco Jelly. Then I started the finance letter for Mrs Elley.

What my/the companies next steps are

My company's next steps are to produce our product, sell them at market day, count our profit and pay for our loan from Mrs Elley.

Advertising

Ethos:

Ethos uses people that are respected or famous to convince their customer to buy their product.

Pathos:

Uses emotions to convince the people in an argument.

Logos:

Uses logic to persuade people to try/buy their product.

This advert showed ethos because it used famous people to promote their product. You can recognise ethos in this picture because they used Crusaders' rugby player. This way it will makes us think that eating Coupland's bread will make you fit and healthy like these players.

Business through Gaming

We are learning to run a profitable business.

The games I played with my group of friends are gumption, trading around the world, and the small business game. I enjoyed how other players will have to pay me if they land on my property. I didn't enjoy how other players can steal my resources. The challenge I faced was that I almost ran out of money. I learnt that having a business can be tough.

I wonder how much money can a player have in the game

Bridge

How to Make a Strong Paper Bridge:

The material we are only allowed are 4 sheets of newspaper and 1 metre of sellotape.

The strongest shape I found out is triangle.

Here is a photo of my team's bridge.

As you can see at the bottom we have 2 supports above the sink. Under we have another 4 supports to hold the weigh.

Explanation of Potato peelers
Do you know how potato peelers work? Here is some information about it.

The potato peeler was invented in Switzerland by Alfred Neweczerzal in 1947.

Potato peelers have four different types including industrial, Y shaped, straight, and swivel. Straight peelers have their blade on the same direction as its handle. They are designed to pivot (turn). Straight peelers peel the skin while it’s moving around the potato. Swivel peelers blades have two edge making them move in either directions. Y shaped peelers work by peeling the potato in strips. Industrial peelers peel potatoes using steam jets to loosen the skin. The most common potato peeler is the Y shaped peeler because it’s easy, safe, and fast to use.

The potato peeler peels potatoes using its blade. There are two blades on a potato peeler, the blade at the top prevents the blade at the bottom from cutting far into the skin. This simple machine makes our lives easier because it makes it safer to peel potatoes than using a knife that can harm you while peeling.

If you don’t know what the Y shaped, straight, swivel, and industrial peeler looks like. Here are some photos.

Now you how a potato peeler works.
